You know how when you start counting numbers - 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on - it feels like you could go on forever? Well, that's because you can! That's an infinite set of numbers, and we call it "countably infinite." It's like you're on a never-ending road trip with numbers.
But now, imagine all the decimal numbers that exist between 0 and 1. There's 0.1, 0.2, 0.01, 0.001, and a gazillion more. This set of numbers is also infinite, but it's a different kind of infinite. It's so jam-packed that you can't even start counting them one by one. No matter how hard you try, there's always another number that you can fit in between any two numbers you pick. This kind of infinity is called "uncountably infinite."
This whole idea of different sizes of infinity was cooked up by a mathematician named Georg Cantor in the late 19th century. It's like he discovered a whole new universe within infinity. So, in the world of mathematics, not all infinities are created equal. Some are just infinitely bigger than others. How wild is that?
