FUN FACT
The dog days of summer are when you feel like a melting ice cream cone, dripping and sticky in the sun. They are named after Sirius, the Dog Star, which is like a giant firework exploding in the sky. The dog days last from July 3rd to August 11th, when Sirius and the sun are besties. The ancient Romans and Greeks hated the dog days because they thought they brought bad luck and madness. But the real reason for the heat is that the Earth is tilted on its axis!
